Promotion:
The beauty, diversity and sustainability of our forests in Germany is irrefutable. It is with good reason that German forestry is held up as an exemplary model throughout the world! This will be demonstrated to the international public in May. From 19th to 30st May, 5,000 delegates from the Signatory States will be meeting in Bonn for the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

The Heads of the German Forestry Council (DFWR) and the German Timber Industry Council (DHWR) are appealing to all forestry organizations, forest land-owners and associations to get involved with the wide-ranging public relations work of the CBD conference.

There will be forest excursions and side-events as well as an exhibition for international visitors on offer. In the run up to the actual conference, the German general public was already invited to participate in a day of action in local forests. On 19th April, under the slogan "Join in! Create diversity", had the opportunity to planted 200.000 trees or different types of shrubs for biodiversity.
