On 23rd May 2008 (from 7pm), the forest and timber industries intend to demonstrate the importance of the forest and wood in securing our future quality of life.
Forests and wood have a special correlation to human history. Even if their significance varies in different parts of the world and in different eras, there is no mistaking the fact that wood is considered, by man, to be an unparalleled source of raw material, building and construction materials and fuel. Professor Gerd Wegener from the Technical University, Munich will demonstrate how the sustainable production and use of wood will impact the ecological, social and cultural conditions of the future.
